Hey! I really like your video! There are two things when it comes to comparing visual forms of data to music.
Art is sooo much easier to capitalize on. A computer can learn hues, colors, lines, gradients, brush strokes, much faster than it can melodies, integrating with the DAW to make music to create humanistic expression, e.c.t., which is why art in my opinion is so much more important, because of the risk factor. Not a lot of people even know how to make music in a DAW, and much less have the knowledge to implement and optimize the millions of virtual instruments. Art can be broken down, and what people spend years and years and years on can be learned almost instantly, which is a lot worse. I explored Midjourney, and 90% of the messages I saw had some artist in the title, and all I found was myself more appreciative of the massive amount of work artists put into their work to make their product, and don't use AI anymore. There have always been more literature on techniques of art than there have music, and It's a fascinating comparison, but both are being attacked by AI.
Anyways, I just think Art needs to be on a much higher priority right now because it's changing people's minds when they want to get a book cover from AI, or an actual artist, one being almost free, and another being more expensive. Even taking the economic factor out, it's still so risky, because people will lose the understanding of how the AI was able to create such amazing art, and it immediately puts a disconnect on what you're creating because they can create something similar to your work (because it used your artwork) in seconds. Why watch hundreds of hours of tutorials, and tons of money on software and educating oneself however when you can put in the name of your favorite artist and have something so similar come out in sencond. This even with the issue of not even putting an artist's name and using their work.
AI is going to be really helpful, you can generate textures, lights, whatever you need, but it's also going to slowly remove the appreciation of the craft, and that's what I think is really scary. It's harder to appreicate something that we can see takes 30 seconds, than someone spent 20+ years painting and the two look virtually identical. Thankfully, any language I believe isn't allowed, so if I wanted words we would still have to have to use an artist.
Thank you for covering such an important topic, and I hope you and other artists can take comfort in knowing that your true fans will stick with you, and appreicate your time, dedication, and content.
