I think I disagree. While connection with humans is why I usually consume art, I don't think that's what I achieve. I actually achieve connection with my internal model of the artist, which can never be the same as the artist. If you don't know art is AI, then you can still connect with your model of the artist. The problem with AI art is that it's bad. It doesn't contain anything worth connecting with.
I also don't think we can so easily dismiss people who actually like art for depiction over meaning, but I'm finding the nuances in that point harder to articulate.
