You've cherry picked the "bad actors" from your comments, but I suppose that is fine. I am an AI power user in LLM, music , art... Really I just wanted to learn the technical aspects of machine learning. A couple of points though: You are criticizing a "zero-shot" or "shotgun" image... aka an image generated by a single prompt with no edits. Most AI work flows have tools that fix all the problems you mentioned. AI can get you %90 of the way there, and for my streaming and hobby work, that is good enough. Currently you'll still need some skills for that last %10. I can say that I have achieved random %100 good very rarely, and been able to push to %99 through hours of modifications and inpainting/other methods. That being said, I am generating AI stuff like 8 hours a day when I do. Will the models get better? likely, but only if the big tech idiots stop censoring them... that is another conversation Nightshade: counter measures have already been developed, AND I hope they improve Nightshade. Yes, I think its perfectly fair to poison your images. AI will be another tool in the tool box no matter how much people cry about it. It does lower the entry level for "art." At the end of the day, art is what what we see it to be... its value is what we make it. Crying about competition wont make you more competitive. I would caution against elitism and snobbery though. I can't say I am unbiased, but that is what the avg folks walking into places like this see from the messengers and their supporters.
