You will not stop the AI takeoff just be making it more inconvenient for corporations to fire workers. Unless you nationalize the corporations (and lose international markets).
Just give us universal income, so we can play video games and argue online in peace (to measure who sponsored the best propaganda, as democratic traditions require).
