I am a PhD scientist. I have used ChatGPT several times, asking it questions about certain chemical processes. It gives what appears to be real answers
However, when ChatGPT was asked for the sources of the information, it just made up fake refererences. This has happened multiple times.
The developers have now set the bot to reply that it can't provide sources.
So, now, there is no way to verify what the program is spitting out is fact or fiction.
