One thing an AI generator could concept are things that do not exist in real life. Such as say, different space ships. Let AI generate a bunch of different ship shapes and then, as the artist, pick and choose ideas generated that you like and make them into a more cohesive piece.
Otherwise, yeah. If you can search out a real life reference, then go that path every time. Agreed.
