can someone explain the deepfake pron problem to me? cuz i dont see it. I dont understand how having deep faked porn of u out on the net is that big of a problem just like how revenge porn would be or having your icloud hacked. if ur any sort of public figure i could get it people are always looking u up, but if ur just some joe blow, who is trying to find porn of you? like they said google is taking thoes sites off the index so its not even like it would be in the first dozen pages of google results. so how can it be so life changing that you have to move? what would i care if people made a fako of me with 10 year old online pics. i mean i guess it could affect your work? maybe? but also who the fk is at a job looking up if there is faked porn of their average coworker? i mean people are statistically average. so your average person is probably not worth someones time to make fake pron of. and if someone did make fako porn of their coworker thats a locallized incident where the creator of that porn knows the person being faked. (could see this happening at blizard) and so it should be easy to figure out who made it and take the appropriate actions. no one is going to be over seas making porn of susan from the water cooler. and if ur a "public/online personality" dosnt that unfortunately come with the turf? its like ur standing on a podium in the public square where everyone bellow u has a mask on, if there are enough people someone is going to throw a tomato at you. so how is it so devastating that the conversation isnt just "some asshole made fako porn of me" end of story. but also nothing is ever all good or all bad. dosnt fako porn give anyone who has had their porn leaked or stolen the excuse that its fake? that must count for something im assuming.
