There are a few problems with the case presented. AI progress has significantly slowed, no AI company has generated any significant profit, the AI bubble is getting ready to burst. AI won’t take our jobs but it will, and has, infested the internet, destroyed truth, ruined lives, and shall eventually cause the next Great Depression (except way worse this time). All the while, yielding not a single significant benefit for humanity. We live in a system so broken by its own contradictions that it is near collapse, as was predicted by sociologists for decades now. The time for change is near, there will be mass suffering, but at least we have the opportunity to change the world for the better, once it has rendered itself to rubble.
