If all jobs disappear and everything is provided by robots and AI then there would really be no need for a UBI. Money will become worthless. Lets imagine everyone gets a UBI, exactly the same amount of money, which is enough to live on. Enough to pay for the roof over your head, energy, food, and clothing. Cant buy more thant he basic needs. No jobs, therefore there are no opportunities to get extra money. You can maybe do something and try selling to generate more income but nobody can buy it as they dont have enough money. Companies cant generate any extra revenue beyond the pool of UBI. There no point in taxes as they money (fixed amount) will just cycle over and over. Doesnt serve any purpose. We will become domesticated animals with all their needs taken care of and free to wander around the green pasture chewing the cud while robots and 1 corp running the world.
