Im not a huge fan of the way our copyright system works. Disney and other huge corporations lobbying to keep stuff from entering the public domain long after all creators of the work are dead. I think copyright should be reformed to allow more works to become public after the creators death faster. It would be important for knowledge and media preservation and for access to said knowledge. I do understand that creators of media should still get paid so the AI licencing sounds like a decent Idea but then how do open source LLMs work? How do you prove that you did or did not use any data and are we not closing the LLM market off to all but the few giant tech companies that can afford licences and the Chinese models that don't care about copyright?
