“Be careful who you’re friends with” really sucks when you’ve had friends for years, but with the rise of AI, they start to support it.
I’ve known my best friends since we were kids, three of us are artists and one is isn’t so much. It was only just last year when this non-artist friend bragged about the AI ‘art’ ragebait account that they had made. They posted AI slop then argued tooth and nail in the comments about it being real, then even posted one video where they posted an actual traditional artist’s work (therefore, stealing it). The way I felt could only be described as heartbroken.
