Those commenters aren't tech fans, but hype fans. All anyone has to do is to dig just a little bit into the reality of these AI programs instead of just taking the hype as gospel, and it becomes obvious that it is all guaranteed to fail. Yes, AI can be very useful as a tool in specific use case scenarios. But as a general tool, it isn't. Take the button issue. The underlying AI doesn't know what a button is, so it will never get it right. Currently, they have programmers adding routines to force correctness in specific situations. The thing is, life is messy. One cannot reprogram for every scenario one may find themselves in. That is what true intelligence exists to handle. To learn and understand the underlying substance of our existence and everything in it, so that when we are thrust into unfamiliar settings, we can extrapolate from our previous experiences to get an understanding of our unfamiliar setting, to make good decisions. As an example. If we are driving and we see a bird flying across our view, we understand that it is a bird. Now, if that bird flips its angle, so instead of seeing it from its top side, we now see it from the bottom side, we don't lose understanding that it is still a bird and overreact by slamming the breaks on. Yet, this is exactly what an AI did. It recognized an object as a bird, but the bird flipped angles and the AI stopped recognizing it as a bird. That is because it no longer fit the pattern it had for bird. The AI has many totally different and separate patterns for what a bird matches to, depending on the angle the bird is being looked at. To it, each is a different bird. There is no object knowledge or continuance of knowledge. So, because rerecognizing that it was a bird and not a rock flying at the windshield was going to take longer than the car was programmed to wait to make a decision of the threat level of the flying object, it overreacted and slammed on the breaks. This is because there is no real intelligence in the AI. For graphics, the inevitable death to AI graphics is being created he the very hype fans berating you. Just like how a photocopy of a photocopy will always be degraded, so will AI using AI as a source material. As these lazy talentless money grabbers using AI fill the internet with AI slop, they are poisoning their own tools far more quickly and effectively that you possibly could. You are simply fastening the inevitable end by cutting it off from even more genuine intelligent art. Just as a side note, with respects to writing. One thing writers do that AI will never be able to do is the empathize. They write based on what they intuit fits with a specific characters type, their internal makeup. They will even invent backstreet no one will ever read just to inform the decisions the character will make in various scenarios. AI is only predicting text based on patterns in other texts. It has no understanding that any character exists, nevermind their internal makeup and motivations behind specific actions. Good writing is about heart and understanding human nature. Understanding the people in the story and making them real to the reader. An AI is completely incapable of even understanding how or why that is important, nevermind being able to do it.
