It does add real value, but it takes a lot of experimentation to start with - and it behaves in a non-deterministic way. Frankly, many in the workforce are understandably not up for that (especially when you add in the suspicion it'll be used to replace them). Also critical is keeping humans in the loop, both in the input and output. Suspect a lot of initial use cases will turn out the be quite boring eg automated meeting notes production, standardised reporting etc.
