AI is a tool, he's right. But so is a brush. A brush doesn't generate copyrightable art by itself, no matter how many prompts you throw at it. If you use the AI product as a starting place and modify it by your own hand and creativity, then then is might be argued that the product is a type of art, though I'd be more likely to see it as "graphic design", myself. But throwing a bunch of words and phrases into a computer program to generate an image does not make it art. Copyright Office FTW (and you have no idea how much it personally hurts me to say that).
