As someone who dreams of improving my art skills (and maybe even getting!! Paid!!!) this whole AI situation is genuinely so heartbreaking. All these people who justify AI art have no idea that these artists are at the 'input' side of this technology, frustrated to see their precious and beautiful artwork being reduced to public data with no strings attached. What's so wrong with honing a craft and being mad about your precious work and time being used to feed a data machine without permission or even knowledge? There needs to be a human element attached to this technology, like digital art. Digital art is a sophisticated tool in the hands of talented people with rules and boundaries. Current AI art is nothing more than using the talent of other people and laughing away the idea of consent and compensation.
I'm also glad there's already 2500 other comments here, I just want to rant into the void and watch it be lost in the sea :) We all feel for you, Sam!! Keep fighting for your art, your style is a beautiful, elegant craft that is always appreciated and deserves its rights.
