Saying 'LLMs are just fancy autocomplete' is basically the same as the old 'AI is just a bunch of if statements.' It’s as silly as saying 'humans are just atoms' to dismiss our humanity. At the end of the day, all forms of intelligence, even human, can be reduced to either a complex decision tree or a very advanced autocomplete system. That doesn’t make it any less real.
