I'm not great at detecting AI and it's only getting harder which is so dissapointing because there are so many beautiful things in this world to marvel at but I can't trust my own eyes when I do see something beautiful.
I drew a lot all through school but I was always aiming for a disney/anime hybrid style and forgetting the fundamentals. It was easy to feel my art not progressing, because when I was emulating those styles, unless you do a carbon copy, it looks dissapointing when the lineart is so simplistic.
I'm getting back into art for the first time in many years in earnest, and am using real life photo references and trying to capture likenesses in realism instead of copying other's artstyles because I have never been dissapointed in what I make long term that way. The yearning for authenticity is the reason I'm picking up the pencil again.
My partner who does 2D animation tells me I'm a better artist than I think I am, and your videos are really helpful in getting me to believe it.
