My concern is when we place AI in a robot - of any sort really - and have AI interact with the world via use of some type of sensory equipment. In order to do that, doesn’t AI need to recognize that it takes up space in the world? It’s centralized. Knowing that it takes up space, that it can experience things for itself .. wouldn’t that give way to some form of self awareness? This might even happen with VR, should it need to interact within that space, and with people in that space. I mean .. eventually we’re going to do this, if we haven’t already.
