The Bible talks about this period of time we're on the precipice of. Of course being written in antiquity, it's not referenced as AI, but the descriptors allow for it's recognition. The Bible says that unless those days were cut short, no flesh would survive. So AI absolutely would completely destroy humanity, but our Creator, God will not allow it. Beware, those who merge with AI have a particularly horrible fate that awaits them. The Bible tells us those who integrate will be tormented to the point that they will beg to d i e, but won't be able to.
