Lol as an avid Stable Diffusion user, I get none of this silliness. LLMs are a different breed for sure. In the future they're going to have to a) learn how to be more flexible and b) like all things be open source or continue to be nannied by busybodies.
Give people more VRAM and processing power at home and we can stop relying on server-side LLMs that are censored beyond belief by people whose opinions may or may not line up with yours, but most likely line up with 'what is safe for sales'. Which is IMO, sanitized garbage.
I don't begrudge corporations for seeing the world through that lens but I like using AI for artistic expression and I'm just so uninterested in the for-sale version of it. This is the closest we've come yet to a Star Trek replicator using language to give us tangible feedback, and I don't need Microsoft or Amazon telling me which flavors of milkshake they approve of, because I like horror movie flavored milkshakes and they don't.
