You mentioned that AI isn't cheaper than pen and paper, and on an individual and ethical level that is true. It is also true that it takes up a lot of natural resources (clean water). However, one could argue that it might be cheaper for big corporations as it allows them to access an imitation of artistic skill without actually having to employ artists, which is morally disgusting and pointless.
