AI Bro here. Just because you dislike an artwork (8:12 you are wrong) doesnt mean it isn't one. You seem to acknowledge in a way that art isn't necessarily limited to things like paint on a canvas, but simultaneously reject the idea of taking all the different ways of input for AI (not only text, but OpenPose vectors, sketches, skeletons, prefabs) and how they transform and diffuse in a matrix to make an image. Art comes in so many forms, do you think the people who poke holes in a paint can and swirl it over the canvas, is that art? Even if you are only poking the holes and picking the paint, even if you have something else play a large role in the outcome, it's still art. I also think it's completely fine to dub AI images as "soulless" or whatever, but it's a way of expressing yourself. And it will always have malicious people trying to be mean, that's the case with everything. I personally think it's fine to think of AI imagery as not having artistic merit, but for me that process of drawing a simple line sketch, takeing a photo of a pose, then adding a few words and generating removes that friction of my skillissue. It drastically reduces the skill floor for self expression (sure, to make AI images you also have other factors like learning what model to use for what and how to prompt) but even if you are not as skilled it's still a creative process. You aren't just putting three words and pressing "generate" (even though you can do that, it's very easy and you can get something decent from that) but it's then later going into photoshop and editing the image, using a Kontext model to change the elements, generating other images and using elements from those to change the result, and so on. One big limitation of civitai I actually found is in the metadata, it expects you only using one model and one generation to get what you want, and honestly while what you can see on that site is ok, but it pales in comparison to the full potential. 23:23 is astonishingly accurate for most of us AI bros (remember, the whole point of AI is that everyone can make AI images, so that includes the low iq people like me, and the other bottom 50% of the population.)
