The underlying motive is always acquisition and hoarding of power and resources, and that’s pathological behavior because it doesn’t serve any greater good or purpose. Just because you can run a business (or a pump n dump scheme) well enough to develop a recursive LLM and spam it enough to buy an island and build a bunker doesn’t mean you are sane or that you should be in charge of global systems and powers.
