The worst part about the energy consumption/carbon footprint aspect of AI is that it's being shoehorned into _everything_ whether we want it or not, which is making that particular problem infinitely worse. _Every_ Google search has multiple AI elements on the page. I can't fathom the energy wasted on injecting AI into _every single web search that every single person on the planet makes._ And for what? Any rational person skips right past that nonsense down to the real results.
