People should no longer depend on (precarious) wages. It is an illusion to believe that unemployment, which has been ongoing for some time and has been accelerated by automation and this pseudo-pandemic, can be prevented. Citizens have no control over the free economic system. Large digital corporations generate economic wealth, not taxpayers, who must work for a paltry, precarious wage or end up on social services. Platform capitalism operates against the classical, liberal rules of the market economy. An unconditional basic income, financed by a micro-tax of up to 0.5 per thousand, replacing all other taxes, would redefine the relationship between paid work and humanity and would also protect us from arbitrary, socio-political decisions that constantly threaten our socio-economic existence in this capitalist system—thus paving the way for a humanistic-progressive capitalism.
