I am a disabled artist who is visually impaired and physically disabled, it makes it hard for me to hold my pen and draw well or sculpt a lot of the time, but when I do it's good. I disagree with AI art. I know other disabled people who use AI art and scream "ableism" at anyone who criticises it, as they say it's the only way for them to make art. The thing is, it's not true - there's infinite interesting and resourceful ways to make art. These users claim that it's in the name of equality, but refuse to acknowledge that their AI generated pieces steal from other artists - many of whom are disabled and/or people of other oppressed minorities. I will never paint photo-realistic oil paintings, or produce more than a few works a year. That's okay. I make art that comes from my humanity, and that includes my limitations, strengths and insights as a disabled person. I collaborate with others to realise ideas I'm unable to create alone, or I switch my medium from visual art to written work or music. I don't pop my ideas into a machine and let it make a collage of stolen work, and then have the audacity to call it progressive and a cure for oppression and inaccessibility.
