If one is an actual artist and trains an AI on their own art, and *maybe* publicly available art/art they pay for(with disclosure of model training intent), they could make an argument for it being a tool. You *can use* it like a high powered photoshop. Someone who can prompt *and* is a good artist will be able to perform black magic.
I just use it for my hobbies. I still get complaints from commissioners that I’m doing that instead of buying their art. I didn’t commission art before, I just did what most people do and found pictures that fit what I was going for with a location or character for my tabletop games from across the web.
