Kinda sad that all of the big tech YouTubers have decided politics and crime pay better and attract the algorithm and cash more than covering actual tech.
Not really surprised. Just miss the days of YouTube being where I went to watch tech experts who were busy enough with innovative announcements so as not to bother with other topics.
Commoditization of tech means there’s not much to cover anymore. Even the last bastion of innovation, open source, is mostly politicized now and not innovating much either.
I’ll watch but it’s nowhere near as much fun as it once was. I suspect this year’s best-of will be quite boring. The pre announcements for the holiday sales season sure are.
Salute to Steve and gang for figuring out a way to stay fed though.
