I really enjoyed this episode, but have to quibble about one issue. At 19:18 Hinton poses the compost/atom bomb question, then at 20:39 remarks about the future of LLMs being creative. That may be true, they may become creative, but seeing analogies is not creative, it's logic (or bisociation). Again, a matter of scale. A logic we may not see right away, but logic nonetheless. I may not have seen the immediate connection between the atom bomb and a compost heap, but an experienced gardener might have. A creative answer would have been something like: they are both connected to the idea of death, or since the atom bomb relies on the physics found in the sun that gives us life, they are both connected to the life cycles - something extrapolated like that. I am not saying that LLMs cannot achieve this in the future, but please, please don't confuse logic (however magical it may seem) as creativity.
