AI image generators aren't capable of some of the creativity humans have. They can copy art styles, but they can't create wholly new ones. They can't create a completely novel creature. They can only combine elements from things already made. That can do a lot, but it can't generate the kind of novelty humans can. It's also impossible for you to precisely control the art like a human can. All you put in is a prompt. The AI has to make some decisions because of the ambiguity. As a result it's not very useful for a lot of applications that require precise control of the art. No matter how good they get AI generators will just not be able to do these things at least without completely changing how they work.
