I read a lot of science-fiction and a lot of stuff on technology and science, and around 2008, when I finally began to recover from the financial disaster that was my ex-wife (leaving me dead broke, in tons of debt, and with crushing child support that I had to pay, even though my children had fled my ex-wife's custody and come to live with me). I started buying AI and automation stocks (although nothing in China because I saw that mess coming, too--never let a tyrant hold anything important to you). I am quite serious when I say I've retired early and am quite comfortable. It's not too late, even now. Find something and invest in AI, buy a stake, even if it's a small one. And, if you are young, find other ways to profit from AI as well and do it, because it can't really be stopped globally at this point (and it would be doom for any country that did manage to stop it for themselves). Don't be a victim or look for someone to come riding to your aid with a dole (Guaranteed Universal Income) because it will never be enough in your lifetime. If you are reading this you can probably do better. There is still time, but don't waste it.
