The worst part is not we're all going to become poor, humans are going to have lack of meaning when the jobs are taken away by AI. That's what will destroy us. Just look at what covid lockdowns did to people, now imagine indefinite of that with AI taking all the jobs.
I've talked to people who work in AI, they're just excited to build this cool toy, not giving a shit what it's going to do to average every day people.
