If AI was designed more as a smart enhancement tool rather than a full-on image generator, it would probably be way less controversial. Something like an AI-powered assistant that helps refine details, fixing lighting, adjusting anatomy, or even suggesting color palettes, it would actually benefit artists instead of replacing them.
The issue now is that AI can just spit out entire artworks with no effort, often mimicking real artists’ styles without their consent. That makes it easy for people to bypass learning the craft while still taking credit for "their" AI-generated images. If AI had been developed strictly as an assistive tool rather than a full generator, it could have been a game-changer in a good way.
