i've gone through something similar before, i wasn't replaced in the exact meaning of the word, but it still stings i had a project where i had to do like 600 minimalistic vectorized drawings but apart from that i also had to make up the designs myself from scratch based on their descriptions, well, that took me enough time to run out of patience as they later told me i should just trace over AI GENERATED IMAGES to make the designs i had already made and they just threw mine away, so all the hours i spent on them were completely wasted, and i wouldn't have been mad about it if they atleast told me from the get go that i just trace the AI and don't bother making something good for them, after all, i was barely being paid like 1500 USD for that commission so i honestly deserved better than this lack of communication. and even worse, it was contradictory as i saw in their project board how the rules said NO AI, but still, they chose the AI made designs.
