I am about to say something deliberately controversial. If the aim were simply to hire more people and reduce unemployment, we could remove every shovel in the country and make workers dig with spoons.
The point is this: job creation for its own sake is not progress. AI should be used to improve efficiency and genuinely make people’s lives better not to preserve inefficiency for appearances.
