1.this "artist" is a joke, 2. i think ai art gets a bad rep since 90% of people are using it to draw big boobies amine girls. 3. i dont think people who use ai generators are artist as much i think they are operators maybe ai art designers but not artist. but there is an argument to be made that some ai art should be able to be protected under copy right protection or at least the workflow and its technically already is. that being that Some ! ai art pieces and their workflow can take days of complex fine tunning and editing that most people who use ai art wouldn't know how to do. to me most ai art is that compared to drawling a stick figure and calling it art and copy righting it. anyone could type draw a picture of a castle in a ai image generator just how anyone can draw a stick figure. but the difference in the mona lisa and a stick figure outside of the artist is the time, deduction, and detail put into the work to paint such art. the same could be applied to the people who spend days working on one workflow getting every detail right to their liking to the point that no one else would just accidently recreate the same art piece or workflow. also the great thing about most ai art depending on what ui you use the workflow is saved to the picture it self meaning you can drag the picture on a ui like cumfyui and see the work that was put into said picture. ai generators are just a new art tool with a very low learning curve but a surprisingly high learning ceiling once you get into it. that allows the average person to express there imagination through art better then ever before without having to spends years learning how to draw or paying someone else or even having hands let alone steady hands. again if you just type draw me a castle on mid journey just how if you draw a stick figure and tried selling me it i would laugh in your face, but you show me a piece that i like that i wouldn't even able to tell was ai without you telling me and know i couldn't just type a simple prompt in and would legit have to copy the workflow to reproduce the same art piece if i wanted to edit it to sell myself then by all means you should be able to copy right the original piece . if you want examples of what i mean just look up flux ai or cumfyui and you see workflows that 99% of people who use ai art generators wouldn't even know how to set up let alone use and all the different loras,checkpoints, lyrocis, VAEs, nodes, models, embeddings and so much more you can add and pick from to finetune your ai to the point that you can create your own style of art really does add weight to ai art being real art. tpts you should be able to copy right protect some ai art depending on how much work was put into the workflow which could be easily proven with the workflow most ai art is embedded with when you download them as you are not copy righting the art piece it self but the workflow that created said art piece. if the workflow is just you typing castle then its worth nothing but if it includes a workflow that took hours of changing models, VAEs , reprompting, proper prompting (as there is a language to ai art that if you understand will help you generate better pictures )and all that stuff then its clearly worth at least the time that was put into the workflow unless i want to spend hours trying to create a workflow that would generate similar results to sell just like most things. oh and mid journey is nothing but a premade workflow you can do slight tweaks to so if someone just rip the exact workflow/program of mid journey and tried selling it online mid journey would have an argument to sue said person if they could prove they copied them exactly tho im no legal expert so i couldn't say for sure if they would win or not im sure they would try.
