As a programmer, I think I really sympathize with what you had to say about tools and intentionality.
I think a lot of people who compare gen. AI to digital art or CAD software are missing this point. That AI doesn't just act as a tool, it removes intentionality and agency in ways that most tools don't.
And, I'm not sure how important it is for art per se, but AI's result aren't deterministic, they aren't replicatable. It's basically a gamble on what you get.
