You enter a world where there are no advances, machines can consolidate information, so simplify things we know, but anything outside of the patterns that they have it does not know. It does not even know what the patterns are patterns of, there are no physics involved unless when explicitly described per execution, It knows 1+1= 2 , because the patterns tend to be 1+1=2 It knows 1 apple + 1 apple = 2 apples for that same reason. If one of those apples is a nasty acidic apple that no one can eat, and the other is a sweet freshly ripened apple straight off the tree, the AI sees them as equivalent, when we know they are not even close to equivalent. AI has no knowledge of the physics or biological makeup or of flavour, of an apple. So yes, it can take jobs, and will appear to be advancing, but that is only the feedback coercion, and in time it will stagnate, because it's data is now coerced into a short form of most likely probabilities, and it has no reason to recreate that coerced data. Think of the difference between early AI images to how they are now, the coercion, some to get rid of errors, others for the sake of speed, these images are narrowing down until you now can for a large percentage of the time create the same characters with minimal descriptive text. It has no reason to reexamine all of the data to recreate it's patterns, so it doesn't. You could say that all AI art will be one particular image (no, it wont go that far, but I say that in case you were unsure of the direction AI takes us).
