I agree, development should be halted until there's been a wider discussion on who owns and controls the systems. Terrifyingly the EU recently ruled against any AI being open source ( which they should be ) demanding they all remain proprietary, under the control of the publisher and subject to "governmental" control ( threats in other words ). When governments and corporations are the only ones allowed to control it, legally, we should all fear the future. Elon is spot on here.
