We should also have that discussion about search engines and social networks because gen AI is probably trained on stuff coming from there. Not having access to the logits makes traditional membership inference very difficult but at the same time next token prediction can make other approaches very easy. It's funny because the two ways we do reconstruction attacks are by accessing logits or by using generation.
