This is all overhyped nonsense! No computer program has any consciousness whatsoever, but the problem is, it doesn't have to, to cause real problems like the mass unemployment that it's been causing and will continue to.
For example, our shops and highstreets, our post delivering letters, our factories and warehouses, check Amazons "fulfillment centres" and our militaries.
No wonder that it's so hard for a lot of our young people to get their first jobs!
Finally, whenever you hear of companies getting more and more AI to do things and then their CEOs saying it won't affect jobs, it will just help their employees to work faster, don't believe a word of it! It's all designed to replace workers and make their Chief Executives even wealthier because the biggest expense to any company is their staff! In the short term, it may create new job positions, but it will be a lot less. And so on and so forth.
