It seems eerily stupid that tech billionaires think AI is somehow going to go to movies, buy streaming services, pay for nails, visit restaurants, travel on airlines, attend concerts, buy cars, pay off credit cards, buy houses, rent apartments, buy video games, buy toys, buy our endless pool of useless stuff on Amazon, etc. AI IF (and that's a big F****** IF) it succeeds would be the collapse of the economy as we know it. UBI would have to match inflation and the entire government would need to restructure spending to prop up the entirely broken system. However you look at it, they couldn't afford to carry tens to hundreds of millions of people, JUST in America with UBI, let alone globally. There's no way and the success of AI would be a moot point because the profits would have to keep the world from collapsing. These tech "rockstars" people are lining up on their knees to pleasure aren't the world-altering geniuses. Meta was the next big everything. AI is just a decent assistant. Nobody is clamoring in droves to even subscribe to Open AI. It's all marketing meant to shove the idea in our face and so they can "PRETEND" that by adding it to all their products and subscriptions it's making money when in reality they're not making a fraction of what they anticipated they would. At best we get a major improvement to the power grid because lobbying dollars make the Orange wig holla. At worst, it's 2008, but this time we get AI to give the recap of what went wrong instead of "industry-leading" commentators who just swore 3 years ago that CHATGPT was going to rebuild the universe into a utopia because it parsed all the known research and books done by man, when in reality it was just a really good inference model based on text. Either way, we Millennials have survived all the turds these idiots on Wall St and Silicon Valley have thrown since the 90s tech bubble.
