Autonomous driving is different from other automation in that it operates in a public domain. So you're using taxes and resources from working class people to potentially outsource the labor that funded this whole venture in the first place. It isn't the same as a private factory setting. You're retooling the balance of taxes for personal profit. That's before we talk about inherent dangers of operation in a public setting. Definitely different than manufacturing automation, to say the least.
