What I think a lot of people are missing is the fact that, as humans, we don’t want to admit to ourselves that we are just another step in evolutio and that it was always inevitable for biology to eventually be replaced by artificial life. We resist acknowledging that human existence is only a temporary phase in the ongoing process of evolution. It feels too frightening to think of it this way because we are so attached to “legacy,” yet those are just ancient, outdated concepts when it comes to AI
