Yes, of course it makes sense that the future of The Jetsons won't happen. The automation will rid us of our standard of living when we can't work because we can't compete against robots, so we will never be able to afford our own robots. As robots become cheaper, we only become poorer and they remain out of reach. Only the elites will get to enjoy the future's robots, not the everyman. Politicians, though, need people to vote for them in order for them to be able to keep their jobs in office, so if they let everybody starve, they're never going to win any elections and they will lose their jobs. Surely they must come up with some brand new policies that will ensure their people do not starve? Or is everybody going to end up on welfare and who exactly is going to pay for that welfare if the elites are the only ones making any money anymore and their money and assets are situated in offshore bank accounts in tax haven countries that the US government cannot reach? If they print money to pay that welfare without anybody actually working to produce value, then the money loses value so companies increase the cost of food and then people can't afford it and they go hungry again. If they do price fixing, then demand cannot be tempered to avoid outpacing supply, and people will hoarde food, causing the food to run out and the shelves to run bare, and then there will be no food for people to buy and so they will starve.
