I think ChatGPT reflects and intensifies what you bring to it. I train mine to challenge my thinking and pick at my biases. I use it to gather information quickly, and hone my understanding. A tool that sharpens your sword is powerful, but its never meant to replace your sword entirely.
For example I was trying to understand how quantum decoherence relates to determinism. I posit a statement I think is true and explain why based on my understanding. It makes corrections to my statement, I read what it has to say and I make modifications or ask further questions. After like an hour of it correcting me and giving me relevant information I was able to put in my own words the relationship between the two and test my understanding by making other statements and seeing if they were consistent.
