Can't just all self driving cars communicate with each other, and on those scanarios... like.. give a way for car which needs to quickly change lane to avoid an accident? If every car would be self driving, or at least most of them, there is no point to consider only one car avoiding accident, multiple cars could change directions or lanes, to make room
