As nice as it would be to see prices comes down, no company is going to lower prices bc they replaced workers with ai. They are going to either pocket that money or roll it into newer tech that will likely repeatedly break. If a business knows a consumer will pay a certain amount, they will charge that amount. They are only cutting jobs bc they have maxed out utilizing micro cuts to make the profit margins look good for stakeholders. If anything it's going to make most jobs harder/more stressful bc it adds another day to day task. AI doesnt always get it right so it needs to be babysat. Yes it will write a 10 page report for you, but you still need to read, fact check, and correct that report. Much like workers at mcdonalds now have to deal with online orders, uber and door dash, catering, carryout, instead of just the window and front counter, this is only going to add another task/thing that needs to be troubleshooted. They tried to implement ai with their automated order taker and all that did was upset customers and create a bigger mess for employees. Yes Ai has good uses, but it shouldnt be implemented everywhere. It is not creative, it is not empathetic, and it requires too much babysitting. Even with years of training from all the dialogue, communication, and articles it has access to on the internet, it doesnt have the ability to implement the creative problem solving its regurgitates.
