There is a story in Indian Mythology of a demon called Bhasmasur. He gets a boon from Lord Shiva that whatever he touches will turn into ash.
The first thing Bhasmasur does is, try to test the boon on Shiva himself. Somehow Shiva escapes but the world is in chaos with this demon ruling and touching anyone who stands against him. Finally Lord Vishnu eludes the demon to touch his own head thereby killing the monster.
Now replace Bhasmasur by AI and there is no God to save us. Perhaps a glimmer of hope is, we deploying AI to subdue AI.
