It’s not complicated. It’s trained on internet data. When you use a specific racial term like “white” it looks into its training involving when the term “white person” is involved. What stories would use the term “white?” Well news stories involving race. ChatGPT is just reflecting what we’ve already put out on the internet. I doubt it’s intentional to be racist. It’s just the data.
